Job Description
- Take ownership of the insurance roadmap from early platform deployments with first AV adopters to launching category-defining insurance products at scale
- Learn the technicals of autonomous vehicle risks, including data sharing, safety engineering, risk scoring, and contribute to further methodology development
- Work with complex datasets from various autonomous vehicle deployments and own the end-to-end data analysis, from data gathering to client presentations
- Develop cost of risk models for various on-road and off-road use cases, including robotaxis, autonomous trucks, delivery, shuttles, and more
- Work on structuring innovative insurance products in Transportation, Robotics, and AI
- Provide valuable inputs to the platform’s existing functionality and upcoming features
- Deliver value to clients’ insurance and go-to-market teams through innovative insurance tools and programs to facilitate clients’ growth
- Navigate complex regulatory environments of the insurance industry
- Work with cross-functional teams in Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Research
- Report to and work closely with the C-Suite of the company
- Be a subject matter expert and thought leader in the autonomous vehicle/AI insurance space
- Represent Koop Technologies and own the autonomous vehicle insurance narrative
Job Requirements
- Experience in an actuarial role at an insurance/insurtech/brokerage or tech company
- Experience in building actuarial models of high complexity from the ground up
- Experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Lines, preferably Commercial Auto, General Liability/Product Liability, and/or Tech E&O
- Coding fluency in SQL, R, or Python
- Experience with complex insurance transactions, policy documents, and coverage nuances
- Ability to directly interact with specialty clients like large AV developer-operators as well as smaller retail clients that can have complex liability needs in emerging technologies
- Solid understanding of the insurance, MGA, and brokerage markets
- Strong knowledge of insurance fundamentals and ability to reason from the first principles
- Founder mindset, tremendous work ethic, and excellent written/verbal skills
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience at an insurance/insurtech/brokerage company in a mid- to senior-level actuarial position
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business (e.g. Management or Finance), Science (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics), or related academic fields
- Excellent project management skills
- Coding fluency in SQL, R, or Python is preferred
- FCAS, ACAS, ARM, or the equivalent is a plus but not required
