Job Description:

We are looking for an Account Manager who will have a rare early-stage opportunity to help the company scale its distribution and work with the most exciting customers in the insurance space. Working side-by-side with the insurance team, this person will be a key contributor to building out the product distribution vertical at Koop, from managing individual accounts to growing producer relationships. Specifically, the candidate will:

  • Serve a wide range of insureds on a day-to-day basis, from startups to billion-dollar corporations, across many use cases
  • Fulfill client requests using the proprietary insurance software platform
  • Manage COIs, renewals, additional insured requests, policy changes, and subjectivities
  • Own client relationships and provide excellent customer service, from client origination to quoting & binding
  • Help manage the direct sales pipeline and execute sales objectives
  • Provide valuable inputs to the platform’s existing functionality and upcoming features
  • Monitor data, spot trends, and provide advice to internal stakeholders accordingly
  • Help improve the sales lifecycle and distribution practices
  • Work with cross-functional teams in Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Research

You will be joining a team of quantitative modelers, insurance professionals, software engineers, and compliance visionaries, all bound together by an incredible drive to define, build out, and scale the category of proactive and integrated insurance.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in an account executive/manager, customer support, or business development role at an insurance/insurtech/brokerage or tech company
  • Experience with managing the insurance sales pipeline or growing B2B accounts to meet/exceed required production goals
  • Ability to directly interact with and understand the needs of specialty clients like large AV developer-operators as well as smaller retail clients that can have complex liability needs in emerging technologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve client issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform in a high-growth environment
  • Basic knowledge of insurance fundamentals and ability to reason from the first principles
  • Tremendous work ethic and excellent written/verbal skills
  • Ability to work independently

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience at a startup/tech company; insurtech/insurance/brokerage is ideal
  • Current P&C insurance license in any U.S. state
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business (e.g. Management or Finance) or related academic fields
  • Proven track record of successful customer management experience is preferred
  • Extreme attention to details and diligence
  • Impeccable communications and writing skills
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Experience with proprietary software tools or 3rd party CRM tools such as Salesforce
